The opening night is 3rd of April (next Thursday) from 7pm, so if you can make it then please come along – there will be the usual opening night drinks and nibbles. The exhibition then runs until June.

Later this week I will be taking part in the Life After Art School talk at MK Gallery. Along with artists Julie LeFevre and Matt Taylor, we will be talking about our work, and sharing our experiences from the artist in residency programme at Westbury Arts Centre.
There will also be contributions from Angelika Studios, Wysing Arts Centre, and Artworks MK.
For more information please visit the MK Gallery event page here.
I’m about halfway through my Residency at Westbury Arts Centre now, so I thought I should share some photos of what I’ve been up to so far! I will post more stuff soon, but for now here are some pictures from a recent workshop here that I attended. It was learning masking techniques run by artist Cathy Read, who currently is currently exhibiting with ceramist and architect Sally Brooks in the ‘Shack to City’ exhibition in the house here at Westbury Arts Centre.
It was really refreshing to be learning new techniques, and I really enjoyed spending the day playing and experimenting. As a beginner you feel a lot more free to play and less precious about the outcome, which I think is an important attitude to try and maintain at any level of your art practice.
Various stages of the process.
One of my pieces finished.
Another finished piece, using a different masking technique to the previous piece.
Some information on artists Julie LeFevre, Matt Taylor and myself as the current Artists in Residence at Westbury Arts Centre in Milton Keynes. We will be working there from now until the end of August, and will be exhibiting in the Graduate Artist Exhibition, 10–25 August 2013 in the Barn Gallery at Westbury Arts Centre.
