I have a new papercut work ‘Through the Inner World’ (detail pictured) which will be exhibited in the upcoming ‘conNEctWORK’ exhibition at Arts Central in MK!

The exhibition runs 4th – 26th September.

Arts Central is located on the third floor above Station House (above CMK train station), with the entrance foyer next to the Subway shop.

Final open day of Janus exhibition

This Saturday, 10th May, is the final day of the JANUS exhibition at Arts Central. It is open 2 – 4pm, and is also an opportunity to meet artists involved in the exhibition. This Saturday myself and Vilas Sirah will be there. Hope to see you there!

That Time Could Take on Deformed Shapes as it Moved Ahead

My new papercut work ‘That Time Could Take on Deformed Shapes as it Moved Ahead’ (detail pictured) will be exhibited in the upcoming ‘Janus’ exhibition at Arts Central in MK!

The opening night is 3rd of April (next Thursday) from 7pm, so if you can make it then please come along – there will be the usual opening night drinks and nibbles. The exhibition then runs until June.

‘Outside In’ participatory art project at Willen Hospice

Over the past few weeks I have been working with Ulka Karandikar at Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes to create a large three-part mural. I worked directly onto a temporary wall inside the hospice, which is up for the duration of the building work for the ‘Outside In’ building extension project.

The images for the drawings in the mural took inspiration from the ‘Outside In’ theme, and have used nature scenes from Willen Lake and the gardens in the hospice. Three panels were done in total: a scene of the lake, a scene of a path leading into some trees, and an image of flowers from the garden.

Today we invited visitors and staff to colour in the mural, leaving crayons for anyone passing by to get involved. It was brilliant fun to do from start to finish – from drawing the mural, to meeting the wonderful staff and visitors while I was drawing, and seeing everyone enjoying colouring on the walls once it was finished.

Upcoming talk: Life After Art School at MK Gallery

Later this week I will be taking part in the Life After Art School talk at MK Gallery. Along with artists Julie LeFevre and Matt Taylor, we will be talking about our work, and sharing our experiences from the artist in residency programme at Westbury Arts Centre.

There will also be contributions from Angelika Studios, Wysing Arts Centre, and Artworks MK.

Open Show 2.0

I have work on show in the upcoming Open Show 2.0 at Creed Street Arts Centre in Milton Keynes! The exhibition runs from 7th August – 7th September, with the opening night this coming Wednesday from 7:30pm where there will be an artists mingle opportunity, live hyper-performances in the bar and first viewings of the shows. It will be a great chance to see lots of artwork by local MK based artists.
